I can't stop playing this game. I am really enjoying it. Doing nothing but multi-player right now and I am loving it. I should get the Gladiator achievement real soon which is playing 100 MP games. I gotta be really close.
There is still an online community. I would say it seems to be small as I tend to see the same people online a lot, but I never have a problem getting a game going. You might have to wait a few minutes for the lobby to fill up, but I can always get a game going.
Look neither of them are realistic. If you want realism buy a PC and get a game called Lockon. IT's a REAL SIM. Here's my big gripe about HAWX. When you go into no assist mode which is how I normally fly in combat it goes to that retarded 3rd person view and flips the controls. Man that REALISTIC! I know lots of planes that do that. And you want to gripe about the ammo load outs in AC6 they're just as bad as HAWX. They're both arcade style shooters get so get over it. AC6 just has much better gameplay graphics and physics. And more free online content. To me there was no comparison. I just switch to the cockpit view and relatively happy.
Well, I seem to have hit a nerve with you kainebiker. I said in my original message that H.A.W.X. was an arcade style game, but they still found a nice middle road between sim and arcade. The jets behave like they should (an F-111 will not turn as tight as an F-16), and you don't get 250 missiles like you do in AC6 which is just crazy stupid.
I have AC6 and it can be sort of fun at times, but I just enjoyed HAWX a lot better. I also have OverG fighters and don't care for that much either despite other people saying its the best. Its just a matter of taste and opinion.
AC6 had TONS of paid DLC like HAWX is pumping out and like the other game, I will NOT buy a new skin. I think both games have enough in game jets that I don't need to pay for more.
I have not played any MP in AC6 so maybe that is where we are differing in opinion. Maybe I will give the MP a try and see how it is. I never got into the MP because I never got to finish the campaign. I got stuck at that stupid flying aircraft carrier.
Either way, I will give AC6 MP a try and see how it is. Thanks for the comments.
No problem, I just get a lot of grief from the HAWX contingent. I agree it's completely up to what you like. I get mad when I get in an arguement with some stupid kid over.... this one is more realistic then that one... blah, blah, blah... I tell them if you really want to know what its' like to fly a real plane, then go do it! Get off your ass and join the Civil Air Patrol, or the Airforce if you have perfect eyesight. Anyway that just my petpive. Just so you know It gets even more ridiculous after the flying aircraft carriers but it is still fun. You eventually have fly a bombing run down the barrel of a mega cannon. IT took me a while just to figure out what I had to do on that map.
Anyway peace out, gotta actually do some work now.
@kainebiker the zooming out to 3rd person view is what made it so I would never play this game, I've played AC games since it was Air Combat, always done cockpit view, being zoomed out like that is just a PAIN
@Cormyre I actually finished the game with using no 3rd person view aside from the initial introduction. Although it made dodging missile locks a little harder
@kainebiker, I served 8 years in the Air Force as a crew chief on the F-117A and the F-16 C/D so I tend to be really picky about how realistic stuff is. I can see your point about arguing with kids, that does get annoying. Thankfully neither of us are kids or immature. I have enjoyed this dialog. And yeah, I need to get back to work as well. Hahahaha.
To Cormyre, you are only stuck in that mode for one mission in the campaign. You do not have to play that way in MP either if you don't want to. I always play from the 3rd person view where my plane is in front of me (not the stupid Assistance Off Mode) that you guys are talking about. You can play in cockpit view, hud view, behind the jet view, or assistance off view. So I would recommend you check out the game.
Cool. This was a fun thread. Glad you didn't take my rant personally. I was never in the military. Hve problems with taking orders sometimes especially if the person is dumber then myself. Anyway I've played almost every sim that has ever been put out in the PC world. And I too am a bit of a purist when it comes to my sims. But I would NEVER classify either of these in that genre or hold them to that standard these are basically glorified versions of AFTERBURNER. I still have fond memories of that game in the ARCADE.
Yes thats right kid once upon a time there were these places in the MALL that had nothing but video games...they were called ARCADES! And all the games took Quarters! Bp
guess this is one of the examples where the demo made a worse impression? I'll have to get it from GameFly at some point and try out a few missions on Ferun to see if I learn to like it any better... still have a bit of work to do on AC6 though, nabbing the rest of the medals and stuff... =P

I actually wouldn't mind playing this game again in single player with the new stuff I unlocked.
